Where to buy Happy Hacking Keyboard Pro 2:
Where to buy Razer BlackWidow Ultimate:
You could not get two more different keyboard than a BW Ultimate and an HH board. Well, unless you chucked a $5 dell one or a Logitech K120 in there.
That's true, but the point of the video is to compare the switches as I stated. Not the keyboards themselves. I agree with you though. Razer "Gaming" brand with a flashy (read:gaudy) aesthetic vs. the subte + sexy HHKB.
Thanks so much for a great video 🙂 Pretty happy with my MX Browns, but I've noticed a lot of missed keypresses/typoes, and a little bit of hand strain over time, this video definitely makes me want to try out the Tope… but holy crap the HHKB's are crazy expensive!

Nice vid dude 😀 but can you tell me the name of the topre keyboard that you're using in the vid? 😀
I'm glad it seems that you've used a nice microphone for the soundcheck, some of the other ones are using horrible sounding mics. I have Matias quiet pro at work but not really satisfied, think I'll try the topre switches next time.
Do you think Topre keyswitches are worth almost doubling or tripling the price of a Cherry MX keyboard like the $80 CoolerMaster MX Blues?
I feel like Topre keyswitches are only more "premium" because they're less common and are just plain rarer than MX switches. After seeing the absolutely insane QA and testing at one of the Cherry MX factories, I'm not sure how Topres could really justify the price.
I mean, yes, they're more premium – but how? Do we just consider them more premium because of the price? Are we just pre-emptively assuming they're better just because of the fact that they're rarer and more expensive?
I know that due to the fact that rubberdomes are still part of the Topre switch that it's less durable than a Cherry MX, so what justifies that huge markup?
Razer on Kailh
The topre sounds like my Dell keyboard that came with my optiplex in 2002. lol
Mechanical keyboards are awesome, and for peeps who are just getting into them, it's very helpful to be able to see and hear these online.
Having said that—and with all due respect—reduced to its most basic context, I find it HILARIOUS to watch a video of someone typing. It's like watching a video of someone making a cup of instant coffee or trimming their toenails or walking their dog. It's so inherently mundane, it's fascinating. I hope my wife will walk in and find me watching this so I can act real serious while she stands there, goggle-eyed, wondering what the heck I'm doing, till finally I can't stand it any longer and burst out laughing. Whee!
Of course, I had to sit here typing all of that, so I suppose the joke's on me. Okay then.
Razer has it's own switches lol
Sounds like a dell 2006 Keyboard.
Just wondering, how do you think a 60% keyboard (Such as the HHKB) fairs with gaming?
O-rings on both, PLEAAAAAAAAASE!
Topre sounded like red/black switches?
damn you type REALLY hard man^^
I Myself like Dell AT101W
Bottoming out the keys when typing fast makes my fingers tired.
+Angelwork Tech Did you switch out the keycaps on that Blackwidow with those from a CM Storm keyboard? They seem familiar.
I don't like how loud and clicky the Cherry MX-Blue keyboards are. I prefer quieter keyboards overall so the Topre keys are very attractive.
Doesn't Razer's products use Kailh switches though?
For some reason I never liked typing on my blackwidow ultimate. The beer I spilt on it was a godsend, I now use a maxkeyboard.
Thanks for the comparison! 🙂
Thanks for the comparison video. Not a fan of the topre sound. I'm currently on my first keyboard, Razer Blackwidow Ultamite (with the razer green/kailh Blue) switches. I'm definitely looking foward to getting a standard cherry mx blue switch keyboard.
Nice sound comparison, been debating grabbing a Topre board for my collection for awhile now. On a side note when i saw the Razer board with angeled feet upward and no wrist rest my arms literally screamed RSI.
Topre end game.
Best choice if you want all the “click” but none of the “clack” on your mechanical keyboard

So get Brown Switches? Awesome thanks.
I tried out topre. Eh, I like the harsh feel of blues. I hate razer and have a Corsair strafe rgb. U think the hhkb is the ugliest thing in the world honestly.
i think this not a blue switch ?
You do realize that Razer uses Kailh switches not genuine Cherry MX switches right?
Back when Razer used German cherry switches. Good times
I think i'm in love with the Topre…
Thanks for the video. I am going to try a Topre board and see what I think. I'm worried I won't like, but I figure I can resell it.
One thing to note. For gaming it seems like Cherry MX Browns or Reds are probably going to be best because they are so light. On the other hand, typists will probably prefer Greens for their faster snap back.
Wouldn't Topre Vs Cherry MX Brown be a better comparison?
Love how in every keyboard test video, everybody is slamming the keys and bottoming out every single keystroke. Who the hell types like that?
Anyone have any preference on keyboards for programming? I have a Ducky Mini keyboard with MX browns, but not sure if I entirely enjoy it when programming.
Came here to see what someone else had to say and you hit the nail right on the head. I find that I type much quicker with my blackwidow w/ mx blues. Thought the topre would be a big upgrade. I've been using it for about 2 days now and right now I just don't like the very bouncy, rubbery dampened feel to them. What I do like about the HHKB is the look (blank keys) and form factor. I'm going to give it another week before I decide to keep this extremely expensive keyboard or just get my money back and stay with the MX blues.
You're comparing a mechanical clicky switch with a tactile electrostatic switch. It's like comparing a trackball to a mouse, they accomplish the same thing but do it in vastyle different ways.
topre is like a sexy black man's voice
tick vs thock
I have Blues at home and Topre at work. I like the Blues better to be honest. Still love my Topre board though
hey, in ur opinion, how much quieter is the topre compared to blues, it is hard to tell from the video
razer products suck, overpriced garbage for retards.
